Victoria’s store in London

Victoria-Beckham-36-Dover-Street-4-23Sept14-pr_b

Fashion stories from Victoria Beckam

“I don’t want people to be scared to come inside,” said Victoria Beckham, as the hefty concrete door, with its elongated panels, slid open to reveal her first store. This is the former Spice Girl’s first official store. It spans three floors and 6,040 square feet. It’s a classy and minimalistic store, in which you won’t find cash registers, because Victoria dislikes them, instead you can pay with your i-pad. This lady breathes style and that’s is exactly what she wanted to say with this store.  The designer has nurtured every piece of walnut wood, green glass and even the diagonal-grid ceiling that gives the interior a monumental look in terms of space but warmth from its materials.

Barbie girl by Moschino

The total pink runaway

Barbie is back and she looks her best. For this Spring, Moschino decided to go pink. As we witnessed in the Runaway models had seriously voluminous wigs (platinum blond if it worked) and the entire first half of the show was all bubble-gum pink. There were all kinds of retro references too, from the chain belts to the prim skirt suits, and, of course, plenty of whacky moments. The Barbie Barbies we spotted? Work-Out Barbie (with sweatsuit and hand weights), Western Barbie, and basically every band member from Barbie and the Rockers. Whichever Barbies were ready to party in bold ’80s party frocks and shop Rodeo Drive were also well represented.

Faux fur all over fashion

furlove

Be my “fur” lady!

Our new obsession in outerwear is faux fur, but the trend doesn’t stop at coats!  Jackets, sweaters, vests, gloves, dresses, shoes, boots, scarfs..fur is everywhere. There are tons of super-stylish faux fur options out there, which you can purchase in reasonable prices. We have to add  a tip for the synthetic process, which is used, it keeps getting better and better, but you still have to take caution because they aren’t always 100 percent synthetic.

The Chloe “Drew” it bags

“Drew”  to Chloe bags

The French fashion house, after Karl Largerfeld, Stella McCartney, Phoebe Philo and Hannah MacGibbon, carries on the luxury tradition with Clare Waight Keller with creations made with feminine elegance. Chloe is capturing us with her new designs in the bag world. For this Fall, we are falling in love with her new line Drew.  The design of the current collection is new, but at the same time familiar, because it’s a shape and a style that we all have selected to complete an outfit. It has a vintage touch and at the same time its easily fitted with formal and casual clothes.  It’s multifunctional and it is worth the investment. I love how the golden hardware dominates the design – expressing its reason for existence, which is endless luxury. Crafted with calf leather, a strong and durable material, it’s certainly a one-time investment, and it’s forever yours.

Plus info

In honor of the Christmas Holiday season, Chloé is introducing a range of limited edition bags, small leather goods, sunglasses and jewelry, all available in stores from mid-November. Each item has been exclusively designed to represent the symbiotic association between the ateliers’ craftsmanship and the rich charisma of the holidays. Take a look of the limited items.

Chloe up your look in Spring #1

chloespirngcollectiomn

Haute hippie look by Chloe

Chloé amaze us with her new luxe-bohemian look that she is about to launch this Spring. The new it bags, named “Faye” remind us something from the old days (70s), but they are enhanced with modern tips. The new bag line, has a variety collection of shoulder bag that will come in several sizes and probably also make the jump to satchels and totes if its front-flapped, ring-closured look proves popular. The materials used in this collection includes Suede, Calfskin and Python in different shades of brown. Besides the shoulder ones, which will become the answer that we searched for an all day bag, which is at  the same time preppy and chic casual, also includes  a new micro-mini bag that is certainly not big enough to hold our phones, our wallet and our keys at the same time…so guess what it is time to make a change in your priorities. Will it be the key, the money, or the phone? That is the question.

RIP Oscar de la Renta #3

The designer of “red carpet”

Oscar de la Renta, a designer for the Park Avenue set, Hollywood, and first ladies, died yesterday at his home in Kent, Connecticut, after a long battle with cancer. He was 82. De la Renta, who was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, trained with Cristobal Balenciaga in Spain and worked with Antonio del Castillo at Lanvin before moving to New York to take a job with Elizabeth Arden. He was a big believer in ready-to-wear back when ready-to-wear was a novel concept and launched his own label in 1965. He has recently seen it grow into a $150 million business. In the last month, De la Renta dressed Amal Alamuddin for her Venice, Italy, nuptials to George Clooney and Michelle Obama for the Fashion Education Workshop she hosted in Washington, D.C. It was the first time Mrs. Obama wore a dress by the designer. The fashion designer, who dressed celebrities ranging from Jackie Kennedy to Jennifer Garner over the years and whose brand became synonymous with timeless yet fierce elegance, was 82.

Recently he said “I still have the same passion. In fact, perhaps I’m wrong, I think I’m a much better designer than I was 50 years ago because I’ve learned more. I have a much better sense of who my consumer is. Every single day is a learning process… Think of who my woman was then, and who she is now. When I first came to New York, a woman in a pair of pants would not be allowed into some restaurants here. Fashion keeps moving. You just have to keep aware of what’s going on.”

De la Renta’s Spring collection, shown in early September, was one of his loveliest that I can recall, set against a backdrop of soft pink flowers. As I said at the time, it was “feminine, unfailingly polished, and lush with color,” with one sensational evening dress after another. An absolutely fitting swansong. But perhaps Karlie Kloss, writing on Instagram that night, put it best: “There is no one on earth who makes a woman feel more beautiful than Oscar de la Renta.”

Preppy style with miniskirts #6

Sexy street looks

seebychloe295

Although it seems counterintuitive for hemlines to become shorter as the weather gets cooler, that’s exactly what’s happening right now. Over the past month, we’ve seen our favorite street style girls wear their miniskirts with knit sweaters, turtlenecks, and jackets for a stylish, seasonally appropriate look. Fashion designers as Alberta Feretti, Tory Burch, Tommy Hilfiger and Juicy Couture, include in their line preppy, leather, self-colored, check, floral, lace are conquering our everyday looks. Remember the shorter the better!

Style tips: oversized sweaters, shirts (every kind, plaid, see-through, military, minimal), knee high boots and leather jackets.

The illusionist patterns #2

It’s all geometry to me
geometry

This is also a very interesting and cool conglomeration of drives and motives, primarily presenting as the combination of minimalism and futurism. So first of all it’s about the monochrome arrangement of looks, patterns like stripes, lines, circles, sqaures, cubes, and the irreplaceable prints creating some optical effects. It’s a trend for women and men…. Jackets, dresses, skirts, blouses, coats, capes, shirts, pants and gowns, capture our sight with their interesting and futuristic designs.

Chanel meets Gisele #3

The ad of the day

gisele

The film stars supermodel Gisele Bundchen and has been directed by Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann. To celebrate the film, no ordinary launch event would do. Instead Chanel hosted a swanky dinner attended by the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Anna Wintour and wall-to-wall models all decked out in Chanel, of course. The French brand which was first launched over a century ago, used the event to launch an Instagram account, which within one day of creating has racked up an impressive 1.8 million followers. As you can hear the song playing in the short film is the “You re the one that i want” from Grease, but as you can listen, it’s a little darker, softer and more sensual.

Budge-Proof mascara #4

Eyes to fall in love with

A nice once-over with a body or face scrub can take us to our relaxing happy place at the end of the day. But the one ritual we don’t love? Scrubbing our eyes, while trying to remove every last bit of mascara. Not only is it annoying and irritating, all that wear and tear can really do a number on the health of our lashes. Still, we continue to swipe on mascara day after day in the quest for longer lashes. That’s where these tube-technology formulas come in.

Blinc Mascara ($26)

Hailed as the original tube technology mascara, Blinc‘s bestselling version now comes in six shades that include black and brown, along with dark blue, purple, and green. This clump-free mascara is a must for natural-looking lashes.

Becca The Ultimate Mascara ($24)

This mascara is infused with vitamin E, honeysuckle extract, and green tea extract to condition your lashes and leave them plump and glossy.

Kevyn Aucoin The Mascara Volume Mascara ($28)

If you’re after volume, your best tubing mascara bet is this one from esteemed celebrity makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin.

Too Faced Lash Injection ($21)

The fat brush on this mascara helps your lashes reach their full and flirty potential—minus the annoying cleanup at the end of the day. Plus, the inky formula contains vitamin E, which helps keep your lashes in tip-top condition.

L’Oreal Paris Double Extend Lash Extension Effect Mascara ($10)

Long, fluttery lashes are just a few swipes away, thanks to this mascara. Step one is designed to nourish your lashes; step two adds enviable length that won’t flake off during the day.

Cargo Better Than Waterproof Mascara ($20)

Raccoon eyes are a thing of the past with this water-resistant mascara. When you’re ready to remove, just a splash of warm water and gentle pressure will do the trick.
