“The favorite” 10 nominations

Congrats to our own greek talented director, Yorgos Lanthimos, who approved that everything is possible if you have talent and clear goal setting.

Leading Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos’ film “The Favourite” has received an impressive 10 Oscar nominations including those for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actress.

The nominations for the 91st Academy Awards were announced on Tuesday, with “The Favourite” also contending for best-supporting actress (Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz), best original screenplay, photography, editing, cinematography, production design, and costume design.

Based on the true story of Queen Anne, played by Olivia Colman, and the dysfunctional court set up by the last member of the Stewart dynasty, “The Favourite” touches on universal themes, such as love, competition, and power.

“The Favourite” takes the lead for the most nominations, in a tie with “Roma” an emotional story of a domestic worker’s journey set against domestic and political turmoil in 1970s Mexico, written and directed by Alfonso Cuarón.

“I was interested mainly in the three central characters, their power, their fragile relations and how the behaviour of so few people could turn the tide of war and the fate of a country. For me, it is also a love story with comic, dramatic and dark moments,” Lanthimos said.

“The Favourite” is also contending for best-supporting actress (Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz), best original screenplay, photography, editing, cinematography, production design, and costume design at the 91st Academy Award, which will be held on Sunday, February 24 in Hollywood.

Song of the day

Deep in the Meadow from Jennifer Lawrence

Since the second part from the third Hunger Game movie is upon us, the new music hit, just got released.

If you caught the new film over the weekend you would have heard a very familiar lullaby “Deep in the Meadow” play during the credits, performed by none other than J.Law. It’s the same song that Katniss sings at the end of “Mockingjay” and the very same lullaby she sang for Prim and a dying Rue in “The Hunger Games.”

Happily ever after

The Cinderella look

This cosmetics collaboration feeds the little girl in us who used to dance around in glittery heels hoping for a fairy godmother. The 17-piece collection is encased in sky-blue packaging with the classic Cinderella logo. Some of our favorites include the silvery loose glitter and the peachy-pink lipstick. The products finally are available in stores, since the Cinderella film is on theaters on March 13.

The grey effect

In love with “grey”

Nails, accessories, coats, shoes and everything you can imagine comes to conquer you.

It doesn’t matter if you are a man or a female, a 4 year old or a 40 year old, the only thing that counts is that the grey is the new black. The shades of the color are plenty (as we read in the book that had the same title)  so you can find something that you will totally be in love with it. From camphire smoke to silver lining and from ebony to lava stone. So many levels in our favorite color for the last 4 years. You can choose it for your kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, car, phone -case and of course to style your wardrobe. Take a look and give it a…buy!
